About the Group KD Group
The core business of KD Group d. d., the sole owner of ADRIATIC SLOVENICA, is asset management of listed and non-listed securities and the generation of financial returns in accordance with the structure of its portfolio. The Group KD Group celebrated in 2009 its 15th anniversary and it is one of the biggest business groups in Slovenia.
KD Group engages in the following economic activities:
- insurance,
- nvestment fund management,
- banking,
- capital investments and real estate.
Insurance
The insurance business of the Group KD Group consists of life and non-life (including health) insurance. In addition to ADRIATIC SLOVENICA, there is another insurance company within the Group in Slovenia: KD Življenje, a life insurance company. The Group KD Group has other subsidiaries in the life-insurance segment abroad such as in Croatia, and sells non-life insurance products through AS neživotno osiguranje a. d. o. Beograd in Serbia.
The key strategic orientations of the Group KD Group in insurance business confirm the Group’s commitment to expanding its operations and being able to offer a comprehensive portfolio of financial services through effective multi-channel distribution networks.
Investment fund management
KD Skladi, družba za upravljanje, d. o. o., manages KD Krovni sklad with its 17 sub-funds that invest in capital markets around the globe and in different economic sectors, and the investment company KD ID, delniška ID, d. d. thanks to a wide array of investment opportunities, KD Skladi have been able to stay at the top of the leaderboard of the Slovenian funds management companies in terms of the breadth of the company’s offering widely regarded as second to none when it comes to the dispersion of investment opportunities in so many sub-funds with long-term investment policies. It is “a piece of cake” for individual or institutional customers to grow their wealth in line with their needs by tailored-made portfolios. At present, four management companies operate outside the Slovenian borders who jointly manage eleven investment funds: four mutual funds in Croatia, two in Romania, two mutual funds and one investment company in Bulgaria and two mutual funds in Macedonia.
Banking
The Group KD Group established KD Banka on 2 March 2009 and officially entered the Slovenian banking sector. KD Banka was incorporated by transforming a stockbrokerage limited liability company KD BPD, borznoposredniška družba, d.o.o. into a bank by meeting the central bank’s requirements for taking up and the pursuit of the business of credit institutions and the no-objection given by the Securities Market Agency regarding the transformation of a limited liability company into a public limited company.
Initially, KD Banka focused attention on private banking and services tailored to meet the needs of wealthy customers plus investment banking. The private banking services and the services for wealthy customers are offered at the headquarters of KD Banka, at 30 Neubergerjeva Street in Ljubljana. Investment banking services are also provided through the branch network operated by KD Finančne točke across Slovenia. In the second half of 2009, KD Banka expanded the roster of its products and services to cater to retail customers: personal bank accounts, Lombard loans, short-, medium- and long-term deposits, savings accounts payment cards and other services typically provided by a commercial bank, as well as electronic banking where KD Banka was among the first banks in Slovenia to enable its customers to place orders both for commercial and investment banking transactions.
Capital investments and real estate
KD Kapital is at the helm of the Group’s division for capital investments.
This division includes real estate services, publishing, and managing of closed investment funds in South Eastern Europe (Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska).
The real-estate business of the Group KD Group is managed by KD Kvart, a young, dynamic and ambitious company, whose core activity is investment engineering in the field of real estate. The strategy of the real estate division is to search for new opportunities for the development of real estate projects, real estate sale, and management of real estate owned by the Group KD Group.
